SYNOPSIS: A cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms this afternoon as it stalls over the region today. It will finally move offshore during Tuesday afternoon. High pressure will bring dry and seasonable conditions Wednesday through Friday. Showers and thunderstorms will be widely scattered next weekend. AIR QUALITY: Fine particles are expected to be in the good range today. Levels will be in the low moderate range on Tuesday in the Providence metro area. Ozone levels will be in the moderate range today especailly through southern Rhode Island. Levels should back to good during Tueday with a cold front moving through the area. Good conditions on Wednesday with drier air and a NW flow.
